Since he is not anymore acitvely competing for the last few years, question is Is his roundheads still can perform as good as they were before? I mean years ago? Are they still battle tested and perform as good? Please share your observations I sent you an email. Kindly check. Thank you for your interest on my fowls. As well to those who recommended me. Sign up.The RoundHeads Roundheads always perplex inexperienced breeders because when good specimens are made, they fight extremely well, but when the offspring is off, they lose just as spectacularly.
The only guarantee is to know the bloodline so that you know it well enough to know its strengths and weaknesses. Roundheads were crossed with Clarets to make the McClanahans that Walter Kelso used in his initial cross. The Typewriter McClanahan were known to hit powerfully and have desperate gameness. There are hordes of Oriental-American crosses that come peacomb and are called Roundheads which contain not a drop of the original Allen bloodline.
So now it is used more as a generic term for pea comb fowl than as the name of a specific breed. Most of the Roundhead gamefowl around were straight comb.
The ubuiquitous Boston cock had very strong peacomb genes to give that characteristic to his offspring and descendants for generations to come to this day. Some Roundhead fowl were known to be Irish Whitehackles-bred just like the more common English Whitehackles with pea combs. Oriental crosses increased the size of the Roundhead to around 5 lbs. These Oriental bloodlines were then added to the early English fowl. Over the years, in the 50s to the 70s, a close focus on breeding pure was made for most Roundheads.
Until a cross with power hitting fowl like Hatches increased the winnings of the breed that it became a de- facto mating choice to infuse pure Roundhead with power Hatch or other power gamefowl like the Sweater. Lacy Roundheads. Judge Ernest Lacy of Jasper, Alabama, started his gamefowl in The Lacy Roundhead was basically a mix of Allen and Shelton bloodlines.
All throughout the history of the bloodline, the Lacy Roundhead was crossed only with other Roundheads, from fowl breeder friends of the Lacy heir, keeping the stock fairly pure in its own right. The Lacy Roundhead breeder himself kept a close line breeding program to keep his gamefowl bloodline intact. A friend of the heir of Ernest Lacy, Carl Davis experimented with Lacys crossed with power blood with impressive success in the pit.
The powered-up Lacy Roundheads were some of the best gamefowl to be found in Alabama during the time, attracting attention among breeders and winning consistently in all of the major Alabama pits.At Fatal Fury Game Farm we strongly believe that quality starts before the egg, with properly selected brood fowl. Our broodstock is carefully selected every year to meet quality standards.
DAN GRAY ROUNDHEAD
Every bird that is selected to be a producer is carefully selected for their superior overall traits, health, and genetics. Once the breeders are selected they are given vitamins and supplements before being paired for breeding.
As our broodstock produce fertile eggs, we routinely collect the eggs daily and examine them to make sure they are up to standard and not cracked or chipped. We store our eggs in a clean controlled environment as they wait to be set into the incubator. We then incubate them in Sportsman Cabinet Incubators. Three days before they hatch we transfer them into the hatchers. Each Individual breeding pen has a section in the hatcher specified for that breeding.
Once they hatch each breed gets identified with their own toe punch markings. Later on, they are vaccinated and transferred into the brooder until they are old enough to be put into our grow-out and eventually individual pens. Our breeding facilities are equipped with an automated watering system; our fowl receive fresh water 4 times a day every 6 hours.
We mix our own feed and mill some of our own feed as well. Gamefowls have different nutritional requirements at different points in their life.
They are given different types of feed with different protein percentages and supplements during each developmental stage of their growth. We do everything in our power to maintain and produce the healthiest game fowl possible.Akiliwa kiboga na baba yake mzazi tanzania video

I like both. Where are these cocks now, and who owns them? Can I have their owners' numbers please? Regards, DJ. Thanks in advance. Tuesday, September 29, Some Game fowl bloodlines. Regular Greys come green legged, sometimes with yellow, silver duck wings and straight comb. They are medium to low-stationed and are known for power and gameness.
Breeders note that they are as powerful and dead game as the Bluefaces. Because of these, many breeders have made Regular Grey as their foundation line. Modern Hatches are more high flying and are faster, many coming more brainy than usual. Their usual characteristics like power and gameness, though, are still there, their blows often packing a wallop. They are basically medium-stationed and peacombed with some coming straight combed.
Peacombed, tall and white or yellow legged, Roundheads are considered as ring generals. They are characteristically flyers and agile all-around athletes with superb cutting ability. It is widely believed that this family originated from the oriental fowl.
They are big headed, light-eyed, heavy boned, short and tight feathered and thickly shanked chickens. Very brainy and hardy, these chickens use an off-beat fighting style which twits the aggressive American type of gamefowl. Accurate body hitters and smart side-steppers, asils are usually graded up to an eighth or even a sixteenth with the American fowl in the hope of retaining the desirable cutting and off-beat traits of the Orientals in the resulting battlecrosss.
As with many families, the origin of Sweater is mired by so many versions, some even contradictory. Kearney Whitehackle is one of the most solid bloodlines used as foundation stocks because of its unquenchable do-or-die gameness.
Straight-combed red with the characteristic white underhackle feathers, the Kearney Whitehackle comes yellow legged and sometimes spangle-feathered. This bloodline is one of the gamest among the many Whitehackle subfamilies and is used only for infusion purposes to prop up any floundering bloodline. Butchers are straight-combed red that often come white-legged with some coming yellow-legged. Medium to low-stationed, Butchers sometime come spangled and brassback in color, with the latter presently called Black Butchers.
The Blueface Hatch, a special strain of Hatches, came to be known as such because of its pale-faced appearance, which is similar to the appearance of a fowl with Avian Leucosis.
Straight-combed, green-legged and medium to low stationed, Bluefaces have carved a reputation for gameness. Used mainly for foundation blood purposes, old time breeders agree that the best battlecross carries only a quarter or less of the Blueface blood. Brown Red has speed and more speed, with cutting to boot — the advantage of this dark fowl. Coming dark-legged, dark-eyed and with characteristic black feathering, this family is a sight to behold, since Brown Reds show more of the razzle-dazzle shuffling action type of fighting, although their drawback is their seeming lack of gameness and stamina.
However, because of other infusions made by breeders, there already are Brown Reds that are game enough, lasting for more than 10 minutes.
In the drag fight, these fighters are defensive and very calculating, uncharacteristic of a typical Brown Red. LEMON Remember Me? Results 1 to 20 of Dan Gray Clarets What are their characteristics?
